As such, also visit the Citadel of Salah El-Din for it was the core of Egypt for almost 700 years with the Mohammed Ali Alabaster Mosque, which was built by the Turkish architect Yousif Boushnaq. You will get to see the splendid Pompey’s Pillar, which was built in honor of Emperor Diocletian. You will then head to the Citadel of Sultan Qaitbay, situated where the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria used to stand.

After that, you will explore the Catacombs of Kom El Shokafa, the biggest Roman burial site with three levels of tunnels and a mixture of Roman and Egyptian art. In the afternoon, you will visit the famous Library of Alexandria and the Montazah Palace’s gardens, which used to be the residence of King Farouk. You are assured to take plenty of magnificent and interesting photographs of your stay in Alexandria. At the end of the tour, you will come back to the hotel for an overnight stay in Cairo.
