As you cruise Kasr Ibrim from early after sailing, the Citadel of Kasr Ibrim at one time was a magnificent fort city overlooking the River Nile, but currently, it appears as an island because of the building of the Aswan High Dam. The Temple of Amada was first built by King Thutmose III from the 18th dynasty and was then improved by his son, Amenophis II, whose reign saw him add further decorations to the temple as well as the building of a covering to shield a temple once open to the sun. Your visit will move on to the Temple of Derr , probably. King Ramesses II has left an outstanding mark in Egyptian history through his many temples and edifices. Thus, the Temple of Derr, while treasured in its own right, is considered unique because of its original location on the eastern bank of the Nile at a point with few other structures, but also because it is a highly classic example of the rock-cut style used by the King. Away from these two temples, there lies an unidentified set perhaps epitomized by a rock-cut tomb, although a comparatively rare attraction in Egypt due to its belonging to a Viceroy of Kush. What adds to the interest of the tomb is not only that it has been included in the move, like the nearby temples, but had been moved from its original position in the 1960s when the erection of the Aswan High Dam caused the rising water of Nasser Lake. After finishing your day tours, return to your cruise, where you will have cocktails before indulging in a fabulous on-board Nubian show. Having breakfast on a cruise. an early morning trip to Wadi El Seboua. To see Wadi El Seboua while visiting Lake Nasser is another monstrous recommendation, as Wadi El Seboua preserved a number of prominent pharaonic temples that offered a living museum to look at. Wadi El Seboua now stands as home to two "New Kingdom" temples, as well as the Temples of Dakka and Maidum. Kalabsha Temple is located right near the High Dam and is usually the first stop for any cruise on Lake Nasser. It was moved here after being saved from certain flooding at its original location almost 30 miles to the south after the construction of the High Dam.The temple was built by Ptolomaic King Ptolemy and was further completed under the Roman Emperor Augustus. The temple is a curious mixture of Roman and Egyptian imagery. Images of Ptolemaic and Roman emperors are flanked by Egyptian gods while worshipping them. The temple was dedicated to the Nubian god Mandulis. You will check out from the cruise and be transferred by our representative to your hotel.

Breakfast is served on the ship. You will, later on, join your Egyptologist-guide, who will lead you to explore the Kalabsha Temple. The Kalabsha Temple is the first stop on a Lake Nasser cruise because of its location just above the High Dam. Actually, it was moved here from its original location 30 miles downstream because of the dam construction. The temple construction began during the last days of the Ptolemaic dynasty, when it was actually completed under the Romans during the rule of Augustus. The resulting home is a fascinating blend of imagery drawing on themes from both Egyptian and Roman cultures—Roman emperors and pharaohs worshipping alongside Egyptian gods. The god worshipped at this temple was actually the Nubian deity, Mandulis. Beat el-Wali Temple, who, all this time, was drowning in the deep blue waters of Lake Nasser, was rescued by a Polish archaeological team set up by a joint Oriental Institute of Chicago/Swiss Institute of Cairo Project. The temple within is built on a symmetrical cruciform plan, which in turn comprises a deep hall, a perpendicular antechamber with two pillars bearing inscriptions, and a sanctuary. Labeled as a speos since the majority of it is carved in the rock but leaving the front wall of the deep hall with its central doorway intact. Later, as the visit is over, you will return to the boat to have a nap and refresh up and later have lunch aboard while sailing toward Wadi El Sebou while crossing the Tropic of Cancer.

You will have your breakfast on the board of the ship, then you will go to Wadi El Sebou. The name in Arabic means "Valley of the Lions," referring to the avenue of sphinxes that leads up to this temple, which was built during the reign of Ramesses II. Though it was moved to its current location only in the 1960’s, it was quickly forgotten and neglected. You will be bak to the ship to have lunch, and then the boat will sail to Amada. The Temple of Amada is the oldest of the monuments around Lake Nasser. Dating from the 18th dynasty of the New Kingdom, the temple predates Ramesses II and Abu Simbel by around two hundred years; however, as is typical of the great pharaoh of Egypt, Ramesses’s mark and that of his son Merenptah can be found inside.
