Itinerates

Your tour guide will pick you up from your Nile cruise or hotel in Aswan for an exciting tour to visit the Kalabsha temple. When the High Dam was built between 1960 and 1970, numerous ancient temples were relocated to an island near Aswan. By far, the most important monument is the Kalabsha temple dedicated to the Nubian god Mandaulis. Originally situated 50 km south of Aswan, it was constructed about 30 BC during the early Roman period on the site of an even older structure. After that, you will be transferred to Philae Island for a tour to explore with you the magnificent temple of the Goddess Isis. The history of this temple complex covers a wide period from the time of the Pharaohs up to the Roman era. You will arrive at the temple by motorboat and will have lunch at a local restaurant.

Later in the day, you will visit the Nubian Museum, which reflects the history, art, and culture of Nubian civilization. The museum is a reminder of the treasures submerged beneath Lake Nasser and, created in 1997 in collaboration with UNESCO, has everything from artifacts of prehistoric items to the Kingdom of Kush and Meroe, right through to displays of Coptic and Islamic art. The museum also encompasses the massive UNESCO project that relocated Nubia's most important historical monuments owing to the rising waters of Lake Nasser after the construction of the Aswan High Dam. You will be transferred back to your hotel in Aswan.
